Learning a foreign language for only two years in school is senseless. You either learn it in school for six or more years or you learn it by applying the total immersion method, then one year will give good results for most people.

Learning a new language is always kind of brainwashing, as you may learn about a new view on the world, a new culture and a new way of thinking. It was a very strange feeling when it happened the first time to me that I couldn’t remember in which language I had been talking with somebody, although I still remembered all the content. And it was also a strange and interesting experience when I was dreaming in a foreign language for the first time.

Could never figure out why they only taught French back in elementary school. Might have been better to teach Spanish or Russian.
