Trump whines about socialists while browning his nose in the rear end of a former top KGB officer for the former Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics.

Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez call themselves democratic socialists, but whatever they want to call themselves, they are really more like solid New Deal Democrats. They cite as their models nations such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Canada, New Zealand, Finland, Iceland or the Netherlands

“Socialism” espoused by American PROgressives who call themselves “democratic socialists” is more akin to the kind of regulated Keynesian market economics practiced in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Canada, Finland New Zealand, Iceland or the Netherlands, and the United States under the New Deal until first Nixon and then Reagan started dismantling it.

In all of these countries, there are private businesses and for-profit corporations (IKEA, Nokia, Volvo, Skype, Ericsson, Saab), but they are extensively regulated to protect workers, consumers and our shared environment, as well as (except the U.S.) providing a comprehensive safety net to provide universal education through college and health care that are administered as public policy matters in the same way as we handle police, firefighters, emergency disaster relief and public education in K-12.

And yeah, while Trump whines about self-described (but not really) socialists in the U.S., he pals around with actual communists, authoritarian dictators and envies Vladimir Putin of the USSR (I mean, Russia, despite his fond memories of the “good old days”), Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, Kim Jong Un of North Korea and Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines.

Republicans love socialism, they’re just too cowardly to admit it to themselves.

I love the facial expression Mr. Morin has given Trump in this cartoon. Truly evil.

Why are the current Republicans so negative on our constitutional democratic republic, math, science, equal opportunity/justice for all, government of the people, by the people, and for the people, — actively trying to discredit those concepts — and so much in favor of an authoritarian government? Is self-governing, collaboration, cooperation, and/or critical thinking too hard?

In a communist society, the working class owns everything, and everyone works toward the same communal goal. There are no wealthy or poor people — all are equal, and the community distributes what it produces based only on need. Nothing is obtained by working more than what is required. Communism frequently results in low production, mass poverty and limited advancement. Poverty spread so widely in the Soviet Union in the 1980s that its citizens revolted. Like communism, socialism’s main focus is on equality. But workers earn wages they can spend as they choose, while the government, not citizens, owns and operates the means for production. Workers receive what they need to produce and survive, but there’s no incentive to achieve more, leaving little motivation. Some countries have adopted aspects of socialism. The United Kingdom provides basic needs like healthcare to everyone regardless of their time or effort at work. In the U.S., welfare and the public education system are a form of socialism. Both are the opposite of capitalism, where limitations don’t exist and reward comes to those who go beyond the minimum. In capitalist societies, owners are allowed to keep the excess production they earn. And competition occurs naturally, which fosters advancement. Capitalism tends to create a sharp divide between the wealthiest citizens and the poorest, however, with the wealthiest owning the majority of the nation’s resources.

The stickers should read ‘coward’, ‘bully’, ‘narcissist’, ‘misogynist’, ‘racist’, ‘sexist’ etc. Those are his true colors.

Here’s a question…would you rather be labeled a “Republican” or an “American”? Sure seems like nowadays you have to choose one OR the other, you can’t be both!

I find it encouraging so few commenters try to defend trump and his regime on these posts. (for that matter, the republican hierarchy and conservative missinformation) The few that do fail so miserably or, claim actions of the republican party when it was socially liberal. (about 50 years ago)
