I guess Petey doesn’t know that Canada Goose uses thousands of coyote fur pelts for their trim.Coyotes kill lots of pet dogs in this country!

This is going to start a dangerous trend. Next thing you know, Lucy’s going to demand equal time on the bareback rides.

That’s a seriously cute dog. My dog does the same thing in his sleep.

Admittedly, I only spent a few minutes on Google, but it’s hard to get accurate figures on the state of the fur industry (and as far as I know, at least in the U.S., dogs are not being harvested for their fur).

If the temperature of the planet would only go up a few degrees then we wouldn’t need that fur.

Profit is ever the main motive behind most businesses and is the dream of most pols. Hoping for miracles is one thing. Actually achieving them is another.

Some years ago, lots of fashion models signed an agreement to never wear fur again. As time went by, most of them managed to forget their resolution. And a lot of ‘faux’ fur ids actually REAL fur — check it out.

Fur for fashion sucks. However, there are places on this planet where fur still keeps people warm and also usually comes from animals that are not endangered and further (no pun intended) tend to be downright nasty little boogers on a very good day. I can understand that to a certain point.

Why do people protest fur, but not leather?

Because it’s safer to throw red paint on rich women than it is to throw it on bikers……..

    1886

Creation of the Animal Damage Control arm of the Dept. of Interior.

    1893

Wildlife Services is the program intended to provide Federal leadership and skill to resolve wildlife interactions that threaten public health and safety, as well as agricultural, property, and natural resources. The program is part of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). Extermination seems to be the primary motive of the organization.

    2019

What they do today is kill a great many animals. Hundreds of thousands or more every year of all kinds of animals. Extermination of life seems to be their business today and yet who really has heard of them before? Their title is so plain you’d never know what they do.

Wiley did my all-time favorite cartoon (on any topic) about dogs. I’ve bookmarked it because I go back and look at it every now and again when I could use some inspiration: https://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur/2017/10/22
