Whether he understands the meaning or not, Trump is definitely going down with his sinking, stinking ship. Torpedo Mueller has already taken out much of the fleet, and is now coming — and coming fast — for the flagship.

The worry is what damage has he done and what more damage he can do before it’s over. “If the Captain is going down, he’s taking his boat with him.”….. or….. " You’ve got a real nice country there, be a shame if anything bad happened to it, so back off…"

Guess it all depends on what his handler tells him to do.

So the resident would rather scuttle the ship than cooperate with others. Why is it so hard to get some people to work with others to fix the faults in our constitutional democratic republic. We seem instead to have an obstructionist anti-constitutional, anti-democratic- anti-republic faction that has infested the Republican party and seeks to replace our government of the people, by the people, and for the people with an authoritarian dictatorship where only people of the right race, religion and political ideology can thrive. Even the small businessman is endangered when courts are packed to favor the giant corporations.

When a nation no longer has common goals, but two separate sets of goals, there can be no trust and no progress. The disrupters would have the population distrust math, science, logic, critical thinking, and would do all they can to have public education weakened and move out of the common and into homes to lower the quality and create even more division and mistrust. The disrupters gleefully support the resident, anti-vaxxers, climate change deniers, etc and encourage the disrespect for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people with slogans like “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” is seen as a signal that self-rule cannot work and we must not attempt to let people have any choices but instead submit to a strong authoritarian leader who will eliminate the “imperfect” who think differently.

We do not need two separate goals — one for inclusion and one for exclusion — if we are to continue as a nation and it is time to stop electing representatives who want no part of our constitutional democratic republic with freedom and equal justice for all but wish to replace it with a ruthless authoritarian dictatorship.

Well done. Thank you for sharing your opinion. Although CNN or any other media outlet is not where the majority of liberal sheeple get their marching orders. In fact, the liberals have many ideas, often disagree with each other, don’t actually depend on a single source for information, and think for themselves.

So you are getting a reaction from only a portion of them. You will need a much better “question” to get all liberals to react and that may be impossible from your narrow point of view.

I don’t want the Mueller investigation to oust the resident quickly. Then we’d only get Pence, who’d be eligible to run himself in 2020 and again in 2024 if he survived. Which he might, if he were the beneficiary of the same kind of sympathy vote that LBJ got after JFK was assassinated.

What I want instead is for a long, drawn-out 2-year process that completely consumes the time and attention of the current administration so they can’t do any more damage while they’re dealing with it.

The lighthouse is signalling dangerous rocks ahead, the maps are indicating rocky shoals below, but the Captain is ignoring all the warning signs.

The philosophic weakness of this comic is, that Jar-jar trump would sacrifice himself, for anything. Never going to happen. He would jump off a burning ship as any rat would.

Mr. Toles is showing us a possible end scenario which is highly improbable as no narcissist has ever deliberately self-destructed, to my knowledge.

It DOES raise a question, however. Past authoritarians, (Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, for example) took to wearing some type of “semi-military” uniform when appearing before the public, after a bit, and Mr. Toles depicts Donnie John in captain’s apparel – so when do you think Donnie John will appear in uniform? His appearance at rallies simply cries out for AT LEAST a “swagger” stick, don’t you think? (and, yes. there IS a smidgen of sarcasm extant in my last statement,)

Evil is self destructive.

You have to follow the money: the Trump worm, the Koch fish, the Putin whale, the………okay, I got nothing. Times like this I wish I was a bleedin’ amoeba!
