Charlie rather reminds me of another pitcher from years gone by. I was playing on a church softball team and as an old deacon was the manager, he also decided to be the pitcher. Bad idea! Don’t get me wrong. Like Charles, he was a great pitcher, for the other team. Now if Charles was a good manager, he’d put Lucy in as pitcher. Her scowl alone would get strikeouts. And we’ve already seen what a good hitter she is, when properly motivated. That would be Schroeder’s job.
Charlie Brown’s tears would only walk if he pitched to them! (No, come to think of it, they would hit line drives at him and knock his clothes off…..which would come in handy at bedtime!)
