The fun level is decided by how much wine is served.

Rat’s idea of books is the bookie’s book and his profits

If Rat had a book club, I’m sure it would involve kerosene and matches.

Pig goes to a Cheese Club. (First rule: there is no Cheese Club).

Fun party without the fun is just a party…kind of like the Republicans…

But, Rat, after a book club meeting you don’t wake up the next morning with a massive hangover…most of the time.

I love to read but I would hate a book club because I forget so much after I read it. And why rehash it anyway? There are more books waiting to be read and enjoyed!

Discuss books; they have words and are often made of paper…

A good comic strip should tell a very short story. Thus this chat group is like a book club for people with short memories.

Did a book club once where they discussed “War and Peace”. The warmongers won over the peaceniks and the “Discussion” deteriorated into “Cuss On”. Then they clubbed all the books. All the participants were then sent to anger management and alcohol anonymous clubs as a result.

Rat attended book club. He clubbed one member. The others booked out and Rat was later caught and booked.

I’m a voracious reader. I own over 2000 volumes myself.

Gotta agree, nothing more boring than a “book club” meeting. I’d rather just stay home and read.

Rat makes the classic mistake of assuming that other people’s joy can be interpreted through his lens. Because he would find something boring, he must assume that others will too,yet do it anyway for some sort of self-defeating reason. Maybe they would think the same in reverse of his interests.

I may be slow on the uptake here but I just noticed the new wall. Going back to see when it first appeared – 11/06/2018 – election day. I was surprised to find that nobody commented on it that day unless it was in a reply that I didn’t see.

From what I’ve experienced, book clubs are an opportunity for bored housewives to get drunk and socialize.
