Excellent advice. I always prefer proof-reading/critiquing my ‘prose’ after 24 hours – it’s as if it were written by some weird lunatic; re-reading in real-time is a skill mastered by only one person I’ve ever met, luckily a colleague and invaluable help under time-pressure.
