They’re leaving a right-angled “finished” section of Eden and entering a roughly-hewn tunnel that descends. If Duffy’s story is true, the “ghost” has been wailing since the early days of the colony. Did their early excavations disturb something?

And there’s the catch…

Something smells in the state of Endtown!

Maybe this explains why the authorities/ruling council/etc. of Eden Colony didn’t want Wally being too efficient in excavations. “Here Be Dragons…”

Interesting that it’s the kids of the colony who want to find out more of what’s really going on. Typical adolescent curiosity with only the vaguest idea (or not) of how dangerous such investigations might be.

I hope they find the ghost before it finds them.
