The home that I grew up in was surrounded by maple trees, serving as a windbreak. More than one had branches that would arch over the roof, dragging against the shingle in a stiff wind. Our strange noises came not from under the bed, but from directly over our heads.

Later on, I would realize that squirrels (fuzzy tree rats, really) would scamper across to transit to different trees without risking ground contact.

No, but ICE could separate that kid from its family, put him/her in a cage, and then refuse to reunite them with their families because it’s “not feasible”.

Look in the closet, behind that big box on the floor, and it’s not a coyote.

You could kidnap a woman, tie her up and smuggle her across the border, or you can find an illegal immigrant already here and threaten her with ICE to get her to do your bidding. Which is the easier option? Let the government do the coercion and dirty work for you.

Trump operates with the politics of fear. He, being a coward, knows something about fear,

But don’t go near the border, the evil racist Trump admin will kidnap you and put you in prison and you will never see your mother again.

No coyotes, but don’t let the elephants in the room catch you.
