When my sister and I started to High School, people used to take pity on us for being so much younger and smaller that almost everyone else and would offer to carry our books for us. High School books were bigger and this was an age before backpacks – they probably would not have let us use one anyway! We were discrete about letting on that we were actually tiny but mighty from weight training.
The amount of homework is standardized. The teachers are all trying to give the students enough info to pass the next test, and the one after that. My daughter gets more tests in a semester than I took in high school.
I hope Nancy spends just as much time wondering about what’s happening in robotics club, and obsessing about what people think about her quitting than she spent actually IN robotics club. I think it could be a thing.

Hmm. I am disappointed that Nancy has stuck with quitting the robotics club.
I would have expected no less than the perfection that continues to be the teachers attitude and response. She is amazing.
