Single payer health care ain’t all that bad. Vacinations and shots, tonsillectomy (all the ice cream you can eat afterwards kid), broken bones including some time hospitalized in traction – all free, with American doctors, nurses and physical therapists, no co-pays, all before I turned 20. But then again I was an Army Brat. It could work for us all. Right now My spouse and I pay $10,800 a year for Medicare and Kaiser. I would happily add that $11,000 to my income taxes if we could have good care for all. Wouldn’t you?
C’mon, people, get a clue. Politicians are NOT in office to serve you. YOU, rather, exist as a reason for their careers of self-aggrandizement. Do you HAVE to live in Illinois to figure this out?
Meicare for all spreads the “risk” across the popuation, reduces individual premiums, making the TAX less to support the program (instead of just old folks he need all the care, NOW) it’s pay me a little now, and get the benefits later. Works in much of the world. BTW in New Zealand my relative complained initially about the “health tax”, when having a baby, prenatal care to months of support from a midwife after delivery of a first kid, total out of pocket expense: $40. Let’s try that here.
Mr. Payne and his ilk prefers to keep the money grubbing insurance companies in the system. You know how un-American it would be to shut such a greed driven industry.
Some people don’t need polls to know and do what is right. Others can’t understand the polls that show many people are willing to pay higher taxes for better results.
Great stars above here Payne goes again with his racist cartoons. Scroll back to the Obama toons and you can smell the prejudice wafting off of the screen – purple lips, leering at white women, and on and on.
The depth of there (sic) hatred for all things not lily-white is oceans deep and they show it constantly. Freakin’ crazy…
The only people who like their health care plan are the ones who aren’t paying for it themselves. Such as Senators, Congress-critters and the very fortunate few who still work for businesses who are competing hard for great employees.

Are you advocating for the current system of “If you’re not rich F you!” Henry?

Well, Mr. Payne, just what do you and your fellow travelers propose to fix our national health care problems? Just maintain the status quo or ???

She obviously didn’t read the polls before she took that position.
No, not the surface stat. The underlying numbers when people are asked about higher taxes to pay for it, slower access to care, etc, etc.
