This has me wondering – how much harm is caused by the whole Valentine’s thing? I know it makes loads of money for card shops and flower sellers, but how many children and adults are genuinely hurt every year? Or even permanently damaged emotionally?
Perhaps we should not be sexualising our children and forcing people to have dates for proms and valentines – then there’s the whole issue of gender preference.
We are probably causing a shed-load of trouble every year with this commercialised pairing off expectation.
