Auguste Toulmouche (French, 1829-1890), “An Afternoon Idyll”, auctioned by Christie’s in 2005 for $120,000. This artist seems to have had a thing for sweetly romantic girl on girl action, sometimes seemingly involving minors.
(best viewed using Google Chrome, which can automatically translate most pages as necessary) has info and links that point to info about this roughly jumbo envelope size painting. See Other versions for the strip coloration image.
has the prior work (my just added comment there included the same artist info URLs).

My wife likes to find books by authors that are technically skilled but pedantic. That way, wen she wakes up at 2 am, she turns on night light, reads a little, and falls right back asleep (1950’s SF is really good for this)
