Sometimes you can’t thank someone who loves you when you are very young, but remembering it when you are an adult makes you want to thank that person before it is too late. We are never guaranteed tomorrow, or even the rest of today. Tell people you love them now. You might not have a chance later.
I sent my dad a “love note” birthday card the year before he passed away, thanking him for every time he went out of his way for me. Alzheimer’s got him, but I think he was lucid enough to understand my words. (I couldn’t go see him at the time, as he lived pretty far away and mother was hostile to me paying him any attention, but she couldn’t stop him reading his own mail.)
