I used to teach at a community college. Always told the students that the end of semester euphoria was not limited to their side of the desk. Funny, but snow days didn’t do much for me anyway.

This comic reminds me of an anecdote I once heard about a particularly rough school. It was particularly bad on the last school day of the year – chairs would be thrown out of windows, obscene messages would be written on the boards, desks would be destroyed… And that was just the teachers!

I was station in Okinawa and we sometimes had typhoon days. We would be up all night partying only find out the next morning the storm had passed and it’s business as usual.

For every snow day there is a Summer school work day.

Here in this part of Michigan school was closed all week because of the biting cold. I heard they’ll still have winter break & spring break which means school will probably go on through June. Then it will be …….too hot.

My school was really tough; especially the students. They were so tough that the bathrooms had sandpaper rolls at the toilets…

I remember those days! Listening to the radio, praying for the name of our school to come up, and the cheering from my kids when we didn’t have to go! I was a teacher and a parent so it was fine with me to have the kids home to build snow men, make cookies, and build hot chocolate.
