I pulled a kitten down out of a tree when this story was running some time back. It was a female Maine Coon. I gave her the name of the one at the window (won’t give away anything on this arc. I will let the newbies discover on their own)

Which is worse, the void, or a kitten with too many toes. Either way, your sanity is threatened.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could have an annual book compiling all of that year’s comics in order, so we could review at will? Mine would be tattered in no time! Now back to wishing Elvis would just LOOK!!!!

Puck, you should be the last cat to use a judgmental term like “too many” toes. What if she said you had “not enough legs”?

I mean Puck or Lupin could also alert the people and then Elvis would get involved. All 3 cats acting weird get faster attention anyway.

Good timing Georgia…looks like the arc about the void has landed just as the US northern tier is being subjected to one snow making storm after another. Where I am it is currently ice more than snow. I looked at the local 511 website last evening and you could hardly see the map for the number of snow plow icons. Many have snow cams so you can get real time glimpses of the actual road conditions. Very handy innovation. So glad to be retired so I can stay in with fuzzy kittens and even fuzzier blankets with a hot cup of coffee or tea. Good luck to all of you who must venture out ….drive carefully!

Good morning Orbsters! There was a change in plans. I am home with body parts intact albeit with a few holes. They look around with the camera before they start, to check things out while they have the opportunity. They found several very small spots on my liver. So he stopped the surgery & he is now talking chemo, because there may be more he couldn’t see. The surgery would have weaken me & delayed the chemo, which is why he stopped. I go back next Tues. for the pathology report & if it is as he suspects, he will insert a port & I will start chemo. He says that chemo responds very well in these cases where it is small.

    Snow and cold

    Nothing but nothingness

    Elvis, be brave

Take a look out don’t be afraid to fall

And seeing a kitten who needs you

There is no doubt, soon we will meet one we all love

    One step closer!

    …….

Orb friends waited each day all to find you

Elvis, don’t be afraid, you will love her

    For nine thousand lives

And you’ll love her for nine thousand more

    …….

And all along all the orb

    Knew they would see you

Lupin and Puck are all waiting to greet you

We love all throughout nine lives,

And we’ll love you for nine thousand more!

Hello Mega Orb! Hi orbsters! My comments are finally showing up, and what a suitable day for them to do so. I’ve been reading and commenting for a while, tapping on the window trying to come in from the cold, feeling as if I was unseen and only shouting into the Void – and I don’t know what changed, but now I can finally say hello, everyone! You all seem like such wonderful people, and I’ve really enjoyed listening in on your conversations (which sounds a bit creepy – sorry), but I’m looking forward to actually participating.

If someone could please tell Mrs. Skykey that she’s not the only one having trouble getting her comments to appear, that would be wonderful.

Hey Orb, you may or may not remember that I’ve been dealing with loss of vision in my left eye since the end of September due to papillitis, a swollen optic nerve. It’s an uncommon complication of diabetes. No pain or anything, I just can’t see out of that eye & it’s frustrating as all hell.

Well…I got some AWSUM news at the eye doc’s yesterday! She says the swelling is almost completely gone, my retina is just about back to normal, & my field of vision has cleared up quite a bit. She was THRILLED at how quickly things are resolving. It usually takes longer.

My biggest problem now is that my color vision isn’t where it should be – everything has gray streaks through it. I said “OK, so the rods are waking up but the cones haven’t got the memo yet.” She chuckled.

So now it’s just a matter of waiting for the nerve to finish recovering from being squeezed. Once it’s gone, the condition is unlikely to recur & I don’t have any retinopathy or broken capillaries. YAY! Here’s looking at you, everybody!

I just looked back for Mrs. SkyKey’s e-mail address, and noticed several comments from SkyKey2 and Le’letha going back to January. So, apparent there is something going on, because I never saw Le’letha’s avatar before today.

I’m guessing it is all part of the service Gocomics provides. And you know what they used to call a service, don’t you?

Hello everyone – I’ve been a “lurker” for a while now, too; I’ve been posting, but like Le’letha, they never seemed visible for others. I hope they are now, because I adore the positive vibe and the caring support this community offers. If it’s not too forward to ask, I could use a few “bumps” and “purrs” myself – my dog Conan (my avatar, a lovely black German Shepherd) just started chemo for lymphoma. He’s been a pretty sick boy for the last two weeks; I’m hoping we can balance his meds and the right prescription foods to keep him comfy while he tries to beat the cancer, but I do worry about him. And don’t worry – he may be a dog, but he’s very cat-friendly and very laid back, so he would fit in here just fine.

(((((WitcheeMinx))))) Adding my prayers and support to everyone else’s. I’m presently experiencing chemo for breast cancer. It’s the third time for me. The first was 30 years ago, at which time I had a modified radical mastectomy. The second time was 17 years ago when I spotted a tiny finger-let of tissue growing out of the the scar tissue and now 6 months ago when a CAT scan for a persistent cough indicated that something was not quite right in T12, the twelfth thoracic vertebrae. Each time the treatment has been different. I won’t bore you with the details. My doctor was pleased with my last PET scan so now I get 2 weeks free of infusions and I’ve been switched from Taxol to a daily pill Anastrozole which has more tolerable side effects. A positive outlook, a good sense of humor and remembering you have a strong support network here are essential to getting through chemo. I always dress my best when I have treatments. The nurses get a kick out of my colorful clothes and I think it puts a smile on the faces of other patients. Besides it makes me feel better. ;) And ginger tumeric herbal tea helps with any GI distress.
