The Gillette commercial points out the ridiculous excuse used for terrible behavior “boys will be boys”. This has been used to cover for “jokes” about the casting couch, sexist “jokes” made about women in the workplace, catcalls from construction workers, plus the bullying mentioned in the cartoon. Men have consistently tried to blame the victim when a woman gets raped.
We are sexually reproducing animals and Mother Nature requires that we all play the Sex Game in some fashion. As conscious beings, we have some latitude for establishing social rules for how the Game is played, and those rules vary through time and cultures. A big problem we face in modern American culture is no one teaches children of either or any gender what the social rules of the game are – we instead encourage our children to see themselves as special, unique, and Entitled to set their own rules of behavior.
It is so funny. The commercial was not speaking to toxic males. It was speaking to men who aren’t toxic.
It was saying “don’t turn a blind eye when another man is toxic. Stand up to it and stop it. Be a good role model to the next generation”.
The fact that all these toxic men are complaining “this commercial is telling me how to behave”… when it wasn’t even talking to them in the first place just proves how self absorbed they are.
Nahhh. Might Makes Right. The more Masculine the more the Chicks love it, Slouch and fart whenever you damn please. Red meat never killed anyone and it taste better when you KILL IT yourself.
Say what you want about Gillette’s message, but the opposite sure looks stupid.

The ad screams of clichés and stereotypes, Gillette is trying to be a purpose-driven brand…might as well give up now.

That ad is so Odd! I’m pretty good at suspending logic when watching ads, movies; but this just baffles me.

I have this feeling that the ones complaining most about this are the ones who need to hear it the most. Is it just me?

In other words, become a female.

I use Equate blades myself. They don’t talk back, don’t tell me what to do and they last longer than Gillette.
