Hobbes is not very courageous for a tiger.

Calvin, you’re gonna go flying butt over tea kettle. No need to heighten the suspense, because you will plummet—no suspense at all!

Oh, for pity’s sake, Hobbes – it’s just some of Calvin’s hype trying to make his life more adventurous than it is. (You ought to know this by now…)

The only people who would do well on Suicide Slope would be someone from the Suicide Squad like Harley Quinn.

When I was a kid we had a hill that emptied into a parking lot, it was a lot of fun then the powers that be decided the houses next to it needed a new sewer, they put it in right at the bottom of the hill creating a bump about 2 feet tall at the base of the hill, oh yeah the carnage was awesome we named it “Murder Hill” But alas someone broke an arm and the folks who owned the parking lot put up a fence but was it fun while it lasted!! LOL

Cautious people might never reach great heights, but they get to survive. Sometimes that is the greater success.

The only broken bone I ever suffered was from going down hill on my son’s GT Racer snow sled.

I have heard ‘pep talks’ like this one before. It is not very pep-ish and I wish they would stop talking.

When I was a kid there was an alley behind our house which was on a steep hill in the block past our house and then crossed the street directly behind our house. (Sorry, but I had to set the scene) anyway, I talked my younger sister into coming down the hill on my sled and I stood watch in the street that she would cross! You guessed it just as she started down the steep hill a car turned the corner headed in our direction! Like a good brother I first waved to the car to stop and then I stepped in front of the sled and my sister who was hurtling downhill at breakneck speed! The front edge of the sled hit me just above my feet and flipped me all the way over ala Lucy and Charlie Brown! Fortunately the car stopped and, except for some bruising, everyone was OK!

If Calvin was smart he’d follow Rory’s example and sit behind Hobbes (see today’s The Barn)
