If only. I’d grab him by the ear and kick him in the pants so fast, his kids would be born dizzy. Oh, wait…

I believe someone once said, “Only I can fix it.” Well, sir; here’s your chance. (Trying to shift the blame isn’t fixing anything.)

Mitch guys.. The problem is Mitch… your only hope out of this mess is to twist Mitch’es arm and force him to do his job.

We’re in the longest government shutdown in US history and the President said he’s happy to let the shutdown go on for years if Congress doesn’t give him what he wants. Pretty pitiful. If only we had a President who was a master negotiator. Maybe we should have elected the guy who wrote that book, The Art of the Deal. Oh, wait….

Maybe a new law: those desiring to serve in the U.S. gov’t first take a class on how it is supposed to work.

I went through such shutdowns, and also RIF (Reduction In Force) actions over many years, but stuck it out. Folks I gave tickets to, or forced to follow the limits of their grazing leases, were usually ticked off. Those I rescued off cliffs with serious injuries, pulled out of wrecked cars, or who I showed how to comply with the ADA for $600 instead of the $16,000 their architect/contractor demanded, weren’t so upset with a government worker doing his job. BTW, every time the employees got screwed, it was Republicans, who were ALSO the ones saying, “Keep asking for more money or your program will be shut down.” Look at “defense” and the failed B1B, B2, F-22, F-35, or boondoggles in Iraq and Afghanistan, all started by Republicans.

Yep, we in government over the years saw many things. None as stupid or destructive of our nation and national interests as any action from Bonespurs.

We are talking here about the current furlough. Whataboutism.

Try to stay focused on fresh news events instead of desperately trying to divert from your deceiving Donald to not-so-shiney objects from the Obama era.

“A week ago, President Donald Trump said he’d be responsible if the government shut down. Now that a shutdown is imminent, he’s trying to blame it on Democrats.

“On Friday morning, with a government shutdown looming as Trump and Congress struggle to agree to a budget deal, Trump tweeted, ‘The Democrats now own the shutdown!’

“Speaking to Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer in the Oval Office, Trump said on December 11, ‘I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. . . . I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.’”

(“Trump Last Week: I’ll own the shutdown. Trump Now: It’s the Democrats’ fault.Trump is already flip-flopping on who owns a government shutdown,” by German Lopez, VOX, 21 December 2018; see also, https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/12/11/trump-pelosi-schumer-spending-bill-wall-government-shutdown-proud-sot-ip-vpx.cnn)

I hope Smokey has a few picnic baskets stowed away. It’s going to be a long winter.
