Illegal crossings at the southern border have declined steadily every year for the last ten years because of previous TARGETED fence construction at high-risk sites, in which Democrats joined with Republican on a bipartisan basis, and other policies enacted with bipartisan support at the end of Dubya’s tenure and implemented by Obama. Apprehensions of attempted illegal crossings on the Southern border are currently at a 46 year low.
It is not an emergency.
Total number of arrests for those with suspected possible terrorist connections (numbers are one-year figures for 2018 from TRUMP’s Dept of Homeland Security):
Airports: 2,170
Northern border with Canada: 91
Southern border with Mexico: 6
Proposals offered by Democrats would address the actual threats by addressing electronic monitoring to prevent visa overstays and increased inspections of vehicles and cargo shipment containers that enter legally at border checkpoints, where there is not enough equipment or workers to complete adequate inspections. Democratic proposals would address whatever legitimate issues remain.
Anyone who wants to SHUT DOWN TSA and customs (the ones who deal with the real terror threat) to fund a border wall on the southern border but not the northern border, have admitted that the only “emergency” they see is BROWN SKIN.
The only “emergency” is FIRE in the White House. The fake “president’s” pants are ablaze.
This is a way of thinking that has been part of this country long before its founding. And it is what some of us see as the “dark side” of it. Where genocide is part of what they do, and benefits only go to those white few etc.

Very true, but this is a statement of statistics that cherry picks what the speaker wants, to support his agenda. When you look at all the statistics you get a clearer picture. In 1990 there were ~2.0 million illegal Mexicans living in the USA, in 2016 there were 5.4 million illegal Mexicans living in the USA which is more than 50% of the total illegals in the USA of 10.6 million. Border apprehensions in 1970 was 219,254 Mexicans, in 2017 it was down to 130,454 Mexicans, so yes the border patrol is doing its job. But for me 130,454 illegals are still to many. The USA should not have to support and employ illegals while we still have citizens on Unemployment, and legal immigrants waiting to get in.
