A computer shaking hands with a server via landline worked for me. (screech, pop, pop, screech) At the time I remember thinking, ‘how did I ever get along without a personal computer?’
Who knows what future generations will come up with? I fully expected to utter at one point in my lifetime, “How did I ever get along without a flying car?” I don’t see that happening though.
We didn’t get by with just our brains. There were books and sliderules and calculators — all tools which we had to learn how to use. Why is a computer any different?

I’ll tell you how you got along with out it, you learned to use your brains instead of relying on a computer to think for you
