He dreamed of a world where his children would be judged by the content of their character, not their appearance. 51 years later, we still have weather bimbos and minority scholarships and all sorts of programs because people are still first and foremost judged by their appearance (not to say that appearances can’t be important; I won’t hire you no matter what if you come to the interview dressed like a bum). Neo-Nazis and Black Panthers are still around. People hate people based on their ethnicity.SIGH
MLK JR, an amazing leader. If we heed his philosophy, we can make more progress toward a better society. More about character and a rejection of identity politics. More about peaceful protest and an abject rejection of the Violence of so many today with extremist agendas. A call for free speechnd a rejection of shouting down opposing viewpoints.
Much can be learned for a way to rebuild virtue in society from this King quote:
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. " Martin Luther King, Jr.

His “I have a dream” speech is magnificent, but when I think of how far we are from it, I often think he died for nothing.

We have made good progress, however, it still seems like a never ending uphill battle. Good tribute, Scott Stantis.
