Ralph DeSio, of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, told KPBS the prototypes “were not and cannot be designed to be indestructible,” but he said they were meant to “impede or deny efforts to scale, breach or dig under such a barrier, giving agents time to respond.”

If the crisis was real why didn’t Republicans support funding for the wall when they totally controlled Congress? Why was the 1.6 billion dollars provided previously not even used for wall repair/construction. Also, seemingly lost in this discussion, is ultimately the wall would cost in excess of 25 billion dollars. Trump doesn’t give a rats butt about the wall. For him it is about keeping a campaign promise, but more importantly, it’s about him winning! He cannot afford to be seen as the loser he really is.
