There is no crisis. The Democrats already voted with Republicans in 2006 to enact a Bush proposal for stronger border barriers (fences). They are already up at strategic points and THEY ARE WORKING.

Illegal border crossings have declined steadily, each of the last ten years, to the point that they are now the lowest they have been in TWENTY YEARS. The existing border barriers are working and WE DON’T NEED MORE. To whatever extent border barriers have value, WE ALREADY HAVE THEM.

We need the things Democrats are actually proposing to address the actual current issues related to undocumented immigration:

2/3 of illegal immigrants entered LEGALLY with valid but TEMPORARY student or tourist visas and then, when the visas expired, just didn’t go home. Democrats have proposed stronger electronic monitoring of expiring documents.

Most of those who enter ILLEGALLY just drive across the border because only a fraction of vehicles are inspected. Most illegal drug imports enter via cargo shipment containers, of which only a small sampling is searched, as well as some by simply driving across the border. Democrats have proposed 1.3 BILLION that includes increased volume of inspections where it really counts.

And because the Obama enforcement has been so effective in reducing illegal crossings on the southern border, more enter illegally from our NORTHERN border, with Canada, where security is far more lax, but those people tend to be much whiter, so the racists are fine with that because their real objection is not based on being illegal, but on having brown skin.

Mitch McConnell is enabling this Russian puppet to run this country into the ground. If the Senate would vote on these bills to get the government back to work, we could mitigate the damage Trump and his Coulter/Limbaugh crazies have created.

Garbage of one particular kind. Of course, a friend of mine refers to Trump as human garbage, he would likely include other US government members under that label.

In the Republican-lead Senat’s partial defense, they probably do believe they have to bend to Trump’s will or his Brown Shirt minions will primary them in the next election. Meanwhile, the longer they keep the government shut down in support of Trump’s temper tantrum, the more non-Brown Shirt Republicans will rebel against them. They’re kind of screwed either way, and I won’t deny that gives at least a little bit of satisfaction.

I hope that EVERY Federal Employee here in Kentucky remembers in 2020 that it was MITCH MCCONNELL HIMSELF that kept them from getting their paychecks, especially just when Christmas bills are coming due, and their heating bills are going up…

Not “We can only do . . . ,” but “We can do only . . . .” Toles should know better. The incorrect placement of “only” in a sentence can change the meaning intended by the writer/speaker. Here’s a humorous rule of thumb:

Only I poked him in his eye with my stick.I only poked him in his eye with my stick.I poked only him in his eye with my stick.I poked him only in his eye with my stick.I poked him in his only eye with my stick.I poked him in his eye only with my stick.I poked him in his eye with my only stick.I poked him in his eye with my stick only.

All this because there are still those. born in America, but apparently not believing in its principles, who will support a mad misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic, white supremacist, narcissist, and his empty promises and lies. This is the price we pay for our low election turnout and our disinterest/apathy which allows unempathetic, power-hungry, radical politicians to “represent” us.

“But – But – But the Democrats were for a wall…”

Could it possibly be that our current Federal Representatives and Senators (who are affiliated with the private Democratic political party) are attempting to follow the specific intentions of the majority of the constituents that hired them?

Imagine that! Public servants that do what their bosses tell them. Shocking!

Trump’s vanity project (and over-compensating—ask Stormy Daniels about that) is, of course, sheer raw idiocy based on lies. Let’s refute both the idiocy, and the lies, shall we: Here we go with objective reality: By far the great majority of people who become illegal aliens over-stay their visas, and do NOT cross the border from Mexico. (They come in by plane, originally.) The largest current drug problem in the United States is being caused by AMERICAN drug companies—the opiod crisis. Illegal aliens commit violent crimes and other serious crimes at a MUCH LOWER RATE than American citizens. (Please don’t call these facts from the Department of Homeland Security itself “fake news”—people who do that look dumber than a Trump.) The Democrats aren’t against border security, they are against Trump’s vanity project—which, as any intelligent

[whoops! continued] The Democrats aren’t against border security, they are against Trump’s vanity project—which, as any intelligent person would know, is massive waste, fraud, and abuse. The REPUBLICANS in the Senate (100% of them) voted in a voice vote to re-open the government now, without funding the wall (at this point: negotiations could continue, of course.) Trump promised (yeah, I know) the Republicans that he would sign it. Then Trump got scared of mean ol’ Ann Coulter (which is pathetic in itself) and changed his mind (for a mind he considers it). Now Li’l Mitch, Li’l Donnie’s poodle, won’t even bring up the SAME bill for a vote. And somewhere (okay, Moscow) Vladimir Putin is laughing…….

Alas. John Q. Adams wrote in his diary/journal that “the dying agonies of the Constitution will be witness’d on the floor of the Senate”. That was 1805; he had a psychic telescope of considerable magnifying power.

Freedom Caucus members tell Trump to back off wall emergency

Conservative hard-liners fear the move would lead to an uncertain legal battle while setting a dangerous precedent for the presidency.

A core group of the hard-line House Freedom Caucus is urging President Donald Trump against the explosive step of declaring a national emergency to build his wall.

Multiple Republicans in the conservative group have privately raised their concerns with the Trump administration, fearing it would lead to a years-long legal standoff that Democrats could win while setting a dangerous precedent for the presidency, according to more than a dozen lawmakers and GOP aides. They want Trump to hold out for a deal with Democrats, regardless of how long the partial government shutdown drags on.

That wall isn’t important or the Republicans would have had full funding during the time they had all branches of govt. In fact 3 times they had bills with wall funding and Trump vetoed all 3.

“Federal facilities are overflowing with uncollected garbage during the shutdown.”

For starters, Partisan politicians ARE uncollected garbage, and

the “Border Crisis” is nothing more than a deflection from other ongoing nefarious activities. . .

Pay no attention to the man-child behind the curtain.

President Obama closed the National Parks during the repeated Republican shutdowns; if they cannot be adequately serviced and protected from “visitors” that don’t know how to behave, they should be secured. Joshua trees in their national park are being cut down for off-roaders to “create their own roads” which really means cause more damage. Joshua trees mature at about and can live to be years old.
