There is nothing more hypocritical than religious folk.

Let me guess. IS Mike Lester a so-called Christian? What kind of Christian is he? Baptist, Evangelical, Greek Orthodox, RC, Presbo, Lutheran, etc., etc., etc.? Does he even know of the actual internecine warfare between Protestant sects that went on in this country in its formative years? Probably not, since he is a knee -jerk republican, but let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and simply say that as usual his cartoons make no sense and are not based on fact.

Christians don’t have the capacity to understand the subtle nuance of referencing the Dark Lord of their religion in relation to Cheney and the rest of the GOP. Nor do they understand that when Reagan married christianity to the Republican Party, christians brought Satan along with the rest of the characters in their bible.

I would think Lester is the very last person qualified to know how Jesus would act. He is one angry, bitter hombre.

Some people cannot take a joke. Yeshua probably could. He seems to have been a friendly chap, always willing to lend a hand rather than slap a face.

I think he would have been slightly amused at Bale’s backhanded slap at Cheney. Of course, Bale was giving too much credit to Cheney because he is nowhere as evil as Satan is supposed to be — if you believe in that sort of thing.

You missed the whole intent of the statement. And, if you believe that to be a representation of your Lord, is this how you think he would react?

Why is Kramer smacking Christian Bale?

Mike Lester, blasphemer.

God has a sense of humor. We know that from Ecclesiastes, to say nothing of empirical evidence like penguins, the platypus, and the mechanics of sex. Christian Bale made a joke, partly at his own expense. That;s hardly the sort of thing to anger a loving God.

And this sort of response contradicts Jesus’s own teachings. Lester would do well to remember the story of Peter and Malchus in the garden, to say nothing of Jesus’s admonition to turn the other cheek. Why does he believe that Jesus is the hypocrite he drew in this cartoon?

Aside the Bale angle, if Jesus came back today, he’d be smacking the crap out of about 80% of Christians in general and 100% of psycho radical evangelicals.
