Just the opposite of the man named Charlie, who couldn’t get off of that MTA train in Boston because he didn’t have the extra nickel when the fare went up. His wife handed him a sandwich through the open window, but never thought to hand him the nickel he so desperately needed. Maybe she liked it better that he could never get back home, but didn’t want him to starve. You can hear the whole song on YouTube, named M.T.A., by the Kingston Trio. Since no one else seems to comment on this strip, I thought I’d put in this long comment so that Al Capp’s ghost will be cheered, however briefly, that his comic is still being read.

Maybe this comic will be read more when Daisy Mae and the other beauties round out a bit. Capp is still learning the art at this point.
