Could mean they swam some meters in 2019. On the other hand, the large cinnamon roll would be good any year.

Here in the Chicago area (42 degrees north latitude), the rotational velocity of the earth is 271 meters per second. So I will swim 2019 meters in exactly 7.45 seconds. Off to the cinnamon roll counter!

Measuring distance in Meters is not too hard as it is quite close to the same in Yards. But then they spoil the SI-unit-surprise by failing to use Joule instead of Calorie on the cinnamon rolls.

True: 2019 joule cinnamon roll would’ve been just a very small morsel of 0.12 g, but so is a 2019 calorie cinnamon roll as it translates to something just about 0.016 oz. I’d expect the two smartasses not to omit the “kilo” to correctly name it kcal (or kj even).

364 days a year, we just train, train for its own sake and let it find its own way to fit into the rest of our lives. Once a year is just about often enough to learn that sometimes, the less point the better.
