Kids are always “going on six” or “almost thirteen” until they hit about 15 and stop saying that. When they’re elderly, people start again: “I’m 83 and a half, you know!”

When I was 4, I thought that 5 was old! Well, it did represent an extra 25% of my life so far :)

My Grandfather said he was going on the next year of age whatever it was!

Age discussion aside, note the 4 and 5 year olds amusing themselves outside, by themselves… “pre-boogie monster on every corner” days. Poor kids today who never have an unstructured moment to enjoy outside anymore.

My birthday is in May, so from January through April I tend to work up to it by saying “I’ll be xx this year.” I’ll be 71 this year.
