Ah yes, having a good old wallow. For me in my late teens it was Randy Van Warmer’s “(You Left Me) Just When I Needed You Most.” Not that anyone ever had, at that age, but it led to some fine old wallows.
We introduced our daughters to the concept of “Dead Teen Songs” of the ‘60s & ’70s. They still laugh whenever they hear “Rocky”: "Rocky, you know I’ve never died before, don’t know if I can do it…" Their reaction is always, “No DIP, Sherlock!” This, along with “Tell Laura I Love Her”, “Teen Angel”, and on and on…
Based on the information I have about Charles Schulz and the story surrounding the Little Red Haired Girl, I think the song CB is listening to is “Donna” by Richie Valens.
I love Fastball’s “the Way” and Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, but those are just two of the same songs we hear almost every day at work, same songs almost every single day
The World War II song “We’ll Meet Again,” which Stanley Kubrick used to devastating effect at the end of “Dr. Strangelove,” and John Barry’s theme from “Midnight Cowboy”
If you want depressing try “American City Suite” by Cashman & West or how about “Suicide Is Painless”, the theme from M*A*S*H. Or maybe Gilbert O’Sullivan’s "Alone Again (Naturally). I love depressing songs even though I’m kind of a happy-go-lucky guy!

My little sis hated “Seasons In The Sun” and “Kiss And Say Good-bye,” and an ex-schoolmate couldn’t stand “Killing Me Softly With His Song.”
