Hey Ann … that’s Tiff’s shrimp salad you’re swiping from … can’t you at least wait for your own food order to arrive at the table?

Sex or daughter, which will it be in the end? Now that Ann is around she is calling the tune. I won’t predict how the call to daddy will work out, but following this track its a negatory for Tiffany I think. I hope that my inability to predict what will happen in this strip means that something good will happen for her. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

The best cons always have an element of truth in them, to disguise the taste of the lies. It’s true that Tiffany does need to know that money has a limit and that she can’t spend on whatever she wants. But if Ann actually meant good for Tiffany, she wouldn’t be describing therapy and education as frivolous expenses.

I bet her dad will side with Ann..

It’s one thing if Ann is manipulating a situation, but if Pops can’t communicate directly with his own daughter on money issues or anything else important, there’s a big honkin’ problem even more serious than the money itself.

Unfortunately for Tiffany, this is Luann, not Buffy The Vampire Slayer where the evil potential step-parent turns out to be a robot who gets beaten to death with a frying pan.

As much as it pains me, if this IS coming from her father, I would have to support this decision. What kind of life will she eventually lead if she continues to spend recklessly on credit cards with out a thought as to the bill? It isn’t as if they are refusing to pay her tuition or her housing expenses. That is more than a lot of high school graduates can say.

My biggest problem with this is that her father is not the one to sit her down and explain fiscal responsibility to her. It comes across as a spineless way to do things. “Oh God look at this months bill!!! I really ought to talk with her…but I don’t want to deal with the tears or the drama…maybe I will talk to her next month. Oh honey I will talk to her girl to girl. Don’t worry your sweet head about it. It will be a bonding moment”

And where has TJ been during this whole story line?

Tom to Tiffany look hunny i just don’t have the cash to pay off your Credit Card Ann did not tell you that she has bought over $10,000 in clothes in the past month.

A call to Daddy isn’t going to get the job done, Tiff. —Not when the Old Man is under the witch’s spell….

Tiffany has always needed a reality lesson; never thought Anne would be the teacher.

Just chill Tiff. This is just round one. Patience.

It’s pretty certain Ann will get her comeuppance. But when, is the question? At this pace, I will probably be reading the “end” of this arc with my (yet to be born, and possibly decades away) grandchildren.

Key words here…‘intimacy’ & ‘fun’. The witch put a spell on him, I believe is applicable phrase/concept.

Does Tiffany really think the phone call’s going to do any good? The last time they talked he sided with Ann. She should wait until Ann isn’t around and THEN call, but even then it likely won’t help.

Ow. It’s tough when Ann has kind of a point.

Has anyone considered that Ann might win? This could be the catalyst for Tif starting a business and a life on her own. She might make a terrific entrepreneur.

It is time for Ann to go, one way or another.

Legally, Ann (unless she and dad married secretly) has no right to destroy Tiff’s property – the credit card OR the salad.

A call to the police might be in order.

“I won’t allow…” is anne badly misplaying it.

What father would treat their daughter like this? She’s always daddy’s little princess. The whole storyline doesn’t make sense.

Ann is seriously out of line. She is not the parent. If Dad/Tom needs Tiff to manage her spending, the word shouldn’t be coming through her step-monster. This DOES give Tiff an opportunity to schedule time with Tom/Dad for an honest conversation and the really-reallys about his financial/marital/parental situation.

Ann’s fall can’t come soon enough. Her con game domination is past being tiring. The story arc needs her to hit bottom once and for all gone for ever.

Nothing will happen. Just when things get to a point that there is a climax, Greg Evans changes the arc. We never see a climax to ANY arc. There is NEVER an ending to ANYTHING.

I’m surprised her phone hasn’t been cut off. Who ya gonna call, Tiff?

I’ve said it before – many times – but in the case of Tiffany… Karma’s a bitch! Things are coming back to haunt her.

While I am happy that Tiffany is finally trying to get information from the funding source (Tom “Cat” Ferrell), I am fearful it will not make a damn bit of difference. I doubt he is really interested in being involved with any of these decisions. I suspect he had been just throwing money at Tiffany to keep her out of his hair for most of Tiffany’s life…. and I suspect he is now more than willing to leave even that task now to Ann….. it in effect gives him even fewer things to have to “do” here.

So, I believe this phone call will end badly… I think that even if she gets to speak with her paternally derived chromosome provider (the term “father” feels too good for Tom “Cat” IMO), that he will probably just cut the conversation short and tell her that Ann is handling things for him and he is too “busy”.

Isn’t that Tiffany’s lunch Ann is dipping into??? I DOUBT she’ll share her filet mignon.

Man this comic strip has been way too stressful lately. I have enough of that in real life to want to deal with it in what is supposed to be stress relief.

THat filet mignon is really taking a long time to come. Ann must have ordered it medium-fossilized.

Tiffany needs more insight into Ann’s shenanigans’. If she would talk to Mr. Gray and find out how the grift worked she could alert the authority and have her arrested. I still think she should contact Soufflés and tell them about Ann’s scam. I like Tiffany and it would be nice if her mystery mother would appear or her friends would have a way to help her get the upper hand over Ann and open her father’s eyes. Ann might have been a small scale swindle but, she is moving into a more serious area taking over Tom’s financial accounts. Is Tom that old or just stupid that he would allow someone access to his accounts. I know the phone call won’t go well for Tiffany with a father as blind as Tom.

There’s still some hope here, although it’s fading because Tiffany is doing EVERYTHING Wrong. The first of which is calling her dad right front of Ann. Didn’t work the last time, ain’t gonna work now.

That’s provided She IS calling her dad. Hopefully she not calling Les, unless to tell him to head over to Tom’s with PROOF that He IS Ann’s son. The “Son” Ann hasn’t told him about, yet. And still, Tiff shouldn’t do THAT in front of Ann, either.

WILDCARD – What if a handful of ladies sitting over at the next table, recognized Ann as that B*TCH that ripped them off last year with what they now know is FAKE Soufflé lingerie and decide to go all MEDIEVAL on Ann’s butt right in the restaurant while Tiffany looks on in satisfaction? Or better still, THEY call the cops now, to press charges as SEISMIC and many other have been saying?

It’s a longshot, I know. But While Ann’s is being detained, Tiff has a small opportunity to talk to her dad……,

Ann is tactless and usually heartless, but she may very well be right about Tiffany’s spendthrift ways. If there are real issues, there are much better ways to handle them. Her Dad should have been the one to talk with her about any necessary spending limits and budget constraints, and it didn’t need to be a drama-fest.

On the other hand, Tiffany’s reaction is that of a spoiled child. She shouldn’t be so shocked at the entire concept of spending limits, though it’s perfectly reasonable to chafe at Ann’s approach to setting them. She should call her father without Ann present and discuss the finances calmly. Then make adjustments to her present lifestyle if her father requests it.

As much as we all hate to admit it, Ann’s right. When Tiffany becomes more self-sufficient (e.g. paying her own bills, managing her OWN money), Ann won’t hold any power over her anymore. :)

It’s good that Tiffany will talk to her dad about it all and find out exactly what is going on.

Tiff needs to listen real good to what Ann just said. Because she is spot on. Tiffany will lose this battle unit she does some maturing.

Ann is staking our her turf and showing Tiff how much control she has over both her and her dad. By picking at her shrimp salad she’s saying I am the Alpha female and YOU, little insignificant girl, will do as I say!!! It’s a power play. As for Tiff, she is indeed calling her Daddy to protest. But I’m betting she will be disappointed. Tom Ferrell is going to take Ann’s side just as he always does. In his mind his two women should just learn to get along and stop bothering him! He thinks (because she has convinced him of this) that Ann is trying so why can’t Tiffany for heavens’ sake!!!! He doesn’t get what’s really happening at all. Tiff is going to have to fight and fight hard or she will be squeezed out of both her father’s life as well as his bank account. If it were me I’d pretend to knuckle under and befriend Ann, but use every trick I could to get irrefutable evidence of the witchy skank she is to present to Daddy in a way he would be unable to deny.

I give my beloved Tiffany points for verifying.

What does Tiffany’s dad get from Ann? She strokes his ego. More than enough said.

Ann is trying to cut Tiffany off so Ann will have more $$ for herself. Tiffany’s father doesn’t want to be bothered. As someone else posted, Tiffany needs to “play nice” with Ann, make Ann think she has won so she’ll relax and slip up with some evidence (video, written, audio, etc.) that Tiffany can take to her father to prove the person that Ann really is. Ann is one of those people who only care about themselves.

It’s amazing how a comic can get readers riled up. I’m riled up. I am so mad at Anne Eiffel. I hate injustice!

A phone call for daddy? In front of Ann? Hard to believe Tiffany is foolish enough to do that in light of the fact daddy has already shot her down on the phone and in person. Maybe Tiff has just recorded Ann’s boasting and will let daddy hear it for himself, without saying a word. Got to admit, though, Ann looks quite trim and frisky while Tiff looks a little frumpy. Yep, if Tom has the money. Ann has the honey.

Forget it Tiff.

In this case, Ann is correct….

As a fraudster, Ann gives Tom a taste of being married to the mob.

Ann is too calm. Now is undeniable. Tom is totally okay with her about cut Tiffany’s budget.

Tiff’s mistake is tipping her hand in front of her nemesis. She should call her dad when she is by herself.

Well, in previous story arcs Ann has been consistently scheming, dishonest, and manipulative. But a sociopath can sham empathy and charm, I suppose, even though the temptation to “take advantage” of the person whose confidence you have cultivated must always be pretty strong. And maybe she’s taking the long view: swindles and cons tend to run their course pretty quickly, maybe she’s figuring that with convincing charm and “supportiveness” she can write her own ticket with Tiffany’s father. A live golden-egg-bearing goose is worth more than a dead one.

Tom’s got money troubles because Ann is bleeding him dry — and probably looking for her next sugar daddy.

But what’s next? Tiff’s phone has been cut off? Tom’s blocking Tiff’s number because he doesn’t want to face his daughter? Tune in tomorrow …

On the other hand Tiffany has always been very self absorbed. Who is to say which person is in the wrong….

About the spending, witch does have a point. But she’s still a witch.

@Mordoc999 I’m beginning to wonder if this persistent harangue of Tiffany by Ann doesn’t have some sinister subplot. Maybe she’s setting something up to try to get back at her son, Les. Perhaps something that will backfire on her in a karma payback. (One can only hope.)

Which only goes to prove the old adage that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. When have we ever seen Tiff be grateful for anything her father has given her or done for her? What has she ever done for HIM? I can see why Ann has slithered into his life. Not that I approve of Ann. I don’t. But Tiff better wake up and smell the Starbucks pretty soon.

But alas. G&K will be less awesome tomorrow.

Tiff should bring some of her so-called acting skills into play. She should suddenly leap to her feet, clutch her hair, and scream: OH NO!!! MY DAD, TOM FERRAL IS DYING?? AND HE’S BANKRUPT?? I MUST GO TO HIM AT ONCE!!!

Then run for the door while Ann chokes on her purloined piece of shrimp.

If nothing else, it would be funny. :D :D ;D

Why should Ann have any say in whether Tom pays his daughter’s credit card bill? He doesn’t seem to have ever pressured her to get a job, and he knows she’s in college. Even if they got married already, unless her name is on the bank account, it’s not her call.

It’s time for Tiffany to grow up! What is she? 19? How many people that age still live off their parents?

@LeighBurton: My wife’s 56 year old sister is still living off and with her mommy along with her 32 year old baby boy who is studying to become a bum while not supporting his 13 year old love child from his ex girlfriend. Us taxpayers are helping out, too.
