Allyson, you were lucky it was Gordon who showed up. If it were Mike or anyone else, they would only rag on you for being stupid. And I forgot how Mike called her Mart.

Better get her some water, Gordo. Also, I think Alyson learned a valuable lesson here.

Well, she is better off ejecting whatever that was. Lessons to be learned. Poor Gord.

Mike is so insensitive

LOL, “Mart”. Mike is a real true-to-life teenager here, being all “LOLZ people are getting wasted outside!”. That stuff amuses teens to no end… and some young adults! Thankfully, MOST people grow out of that.

So… Gordon went off to dance and probably discovered that no girl would dance with “hormone attack” Gordon Mayes. Then to pass the time, he decided to monitor the doors to see when Peter Kent and Allyson Creemore came back, because he and Michael were looking forward to being entertained by their drunken antics (shades of Otis in the old Andy Griffith TV show, or Foster Brooks the loveable lush, or W.C. Fields, I suppose).

Now Gordon’s going off to find Allyson because only half the entertainment is there. I thought Gordon liked this girl. Why does he want to see her “blasted out of her mind” in front of other people? Why is is OK to make fun of her if she’s drunk, but not OK to make fun of her if she’s sick from drinking?

Lynn’s Comments:

This didn’t happen to me until I had graduated and was in art school…but it happened. Disposing of one’s lunch in a public space is never gracious, but we all seem to need this experience. Mine happened in Stanley Park near the zoo—an appropriate location.

question is…. is she sick from drinking…. or did those guys DO SOMETHING ELSE to her?

Smoke this whole pack of cigarettes. Lesson learned.

I remember this story arc. How long ago did they end this strip, anyway? It just seems like they’re not re-running ALL of the strips from the beginning. I guess maybe I should also ask when the strip started. I thought it had run for quite a few years before I moved here and then this particular strip ran after I did. Maybe time’s just flying by too fast. After all I’ve lived here almost 33 years.

is Allyson the one he marries?

After this experience, Allyson will probably never drink again.

In this situation; just hold her head; she will appreciate it!

Hope the band gets a guitar player on short notice. Gordon and Allyson need to dance to “Earth Angel”.

You’re overthinking this. These are teenagers. Rational actions are not to be expected especially when the opposite sex is involved.

Be a gentleman. Hold back her hair. Buuut that might be weird if you’re not friends. So never mind.

I think he went to check on her when her “boyfriend” left her outside to freeze, possibly drunk and hurt ????

In general, drunks in these situations are fun to watch from a distance. Remember, he has feelings for her and I suspect that his feelings are going to come to the fore in the next couple of strips.

Where did Gordon get the confidence to approach her? Did Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan threaten to melt Gordon’s brain unless he asked out Allyson?

Trouble! I hope it’s nothing serious!
