Your problem Gordon is very common. You fell for the gorgeous girl that every other guy wants. Why don’t you find someone ordinary like yourself? You might find she has a lot more personality than that stuck up girl whose only interest is in herself. Think about it.

Tonguey laugh, hands in pocket, and walking away from the site of the joke – the trifecta!

We ALL have personality. It’s just that some personalities are less appealing than others.

Well, you could be a sports star if you catch her on the rebound. That is about all you can hope for.

If you are filthy rich and look like a reptile, you will get a harem of Allysons.

With all these social issues presented, this strip is quite the advertisement for homeschooling.

I think they ARE in high school as 9th grades because Peter Kent does NOT look like a middle schooler. NOt sure about Canada, but here in AZ, middle schools do not have football. My sons played for private football club during their elementary and middle years and played for their high school team. Middle school only have volleyball, basketball, baseball and track. Baseball is played in the fall, basketball in mid-year and track in the spring. My guess is football is too expensive to support.

Gordon, you could lose that hat. That would help. And try to stand out in some way. Run for class office. Join a sport team (other than football – how about hockey,basketball, track, etc). Or join some club (photography, chess, etc). Play an instrument. Show the girl (and other girls) what it is about you that’s SPECIAL. You don’t have to be a football jock.

In my HS class, there were the “Big Four” (overweight) and at the 30th reunion, one was a knockout!

I’m with you, Gord—all my life, women have inexplicably been passing me up for men who were physically attractive, emotionally healthy and professionally successful…

Another factor is body language. Gordon is slouching with hands in his pockets. Besides making him look chubby, Gordon conveys the message, “I am shy”, whereas Peter is standing up erect and his gait suggest self-confidence. Gordon needs to attend a class on how to improve his posture.
