I know some restaurants paint the walls different colors to make the customers feel warm and invited. Orange and puce would probably have the reverse effect, customers not wanting to stay for long periods. All the ones who dislike Shannon here would welcome her room being painted colors where she would not want to stay long.

Hey I am impressed at anyone who can redo a room, or any part of a house on their own. Brad did and I assume in Luannverse does have a knack for tools (worked on his car all the time when he was the shlump brother, before Toni made a man out of him—she found the man in him) and Toni must be that way too, which would be a way they are attracted to each other. Shannon, is just being Shannon, and the subplot is, whither her upbringing and care given the absent Jonah, and all that Auntie Toni and Uncle Brad invest in her. Plus, as I keep mentioning, what happens if Toni gets pregnant? I daresay they are more than active enough in the marital bed for that to be very likely and soon. I only mention that as a dramatic plot twist, so don’t jump on me for gender assumptions or something! (LOL).

Puce is the French word for “flea.” It’s the color of blood from a squashed flea that can’t be laundered out of bedsheets. Puce was also a popular fashion color in 19th-century Paris. In one of his novels, Émile Zola described a woman “dressed in a gown of a dark color…between puce and the color of goose poop (caca d’oie).”

    “Everything New,”

    “Is OLD, Agsin.”

And now that Shannon’s “Head Quarters” the former laundry room is finished, it’s time for her to present her demands for 2019, Which include a PlayStation 4 (Which She SHOULD have gotten for Christmas) unlimited strawberry ice cream, daily trips to the water park, a boa constrictor, and a baby brother, so she can be jealous of the attention he’ll start receiving, and soon realize THAT demand was a BAD idea.

But Great Job Brad and Toni! One day, your love and above all, patience will be rewarded! In the meantime, have “fun” going to the laundromat……, ;)

Enjoy your room while you can, Shannon. If Aunt Toni is going to have a baby (as some have predicted here,) she Bwad have three options, 1) turn your room into the baby’s room. 2) Finally “encourage” TJ to find a place of his own. Or, 3) do another remodel/addition. Guess which the easiest option is?

To answer Brad’s question: Puce is a dark red or purple-brown color.(it used to be a very popular clue in crossword puzzles)

etymology of the word: Puce is the French word for flea. The color is said to be the color of bloodstains on linen or bedsheets, even after being laundered, from a flea’s droppings, or after a flea has been crushed. The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) dates the first English use of “puce” as a color to 1778.

Pale apricot with puce accents actually appear as a combo in a lot of paintings or photos (especially ones with sunsets and shadows) as well as in textiles including patterned bedspreads and sheets.

Puce is a rather attractive color, despite the name, but maybe not ideal with orange. Odd that a moppet like Shannon would even know the word. —It occurs in a Gilbert & Sullivan lyric, and when I was little I guessed it must mean something like “greenish-yellow”. (Epic fail.)

This was, IMO, a pretty good set of Shannon panels today! I like that Shannon is being presented as happy and kid-like and that she is not being “demanding” of better gifts like she had been portrayed in the last few days. This is, IMO a really nice rendering of Shannon today.

In my manner of thinking…. painting is easy… so if I were Brad and Toni… I would let Shannon pick the wall colors. It only takes a day and a few coats of paint to renew a room if the colors grow tiresome or are especially obnoxious.

Shannon wants orange and puce. First, I like that Shannon knows the word “puce”. It is really not a bad color in the right application. And, there are an array of oranges that could be selected. If Toni and Brad are of a mind to, they could find a good (or at least reasonable) pairing of the two colors and give Shannon her “dream” bedroom. I would suggest one accent wall in puce and the other walls some sort of mild (perhaps “creamsickle”) orange.
