What is it with Georgia and Florida saying that votes that haven’t been counted by a certain deadline will be discarded? THAT is the real election fraud. The ONLY deadlines should be on when votes can be cast, not for when they need to be counted.
Every vote that was legally cast must be counted. If they set deadlines for counting and a county does not meet that deadline, then if they need to impose a penalty, impose it on the election officials who didn’t complete their jobs on time — NOT on the voters who have no power to protect their vote once they put it in the ballot box.
And stop the BS crap about voter fraud unless you have evidence. It defies common sense that when the top state election officials in both Florida (governor) and Georgia (secretary of state), who are in complete charge of every aspect of the election process, who are candidates in the very elections they are managing and have already done everything they can to obstruct voting in communities likely to oppose them, whine and bitch and moan about irregularities in a process THEY HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER.
Funny how the majority of the few verified cases of Vote Fraud actually discovered, perhaps a dozen nationwide, are by REPUBLICANS voting multiple times for REPUBLICAN candidates.
In Florida, counting every vote by hand really is “cheating”. Counties are required by law to use electronic tabulators, “manual” recounts only manually count overvotes and undervotes, and audits (done after an election is already certified, natch) can only audit between 1 and 2% of one race. If Nelson’s suit to require a true hand recount in Palm Beach County (because their machines are overheating, fer cripes sake) had any chance of going through, it could blow up the whole situation. But even if it came up with the same results as the tabulators, I’d still want hand counting in every election, because there have been too many instances of one-in-a-trillion “coincidences” that gave Republicans victories.
El Trumpo’s speculations about in-person voter fraud make one wonder if he’s ever been inside a polling place. He seems to have fairly odd ideas about what goes on.
In any case, when he speculates that individuals can vote many times by running off and changing shirts or hats and coming back to vote again, he seems to have forgotten that in busy precincts it can take hours in line to vote. And in unbusy ones, the poll-watchers and supervisors have plenty of time to scrutinize voters. In fact probably know a fair number of them personally.
