When he visited Japan, little old ladies would sometimes just walk up to him and just start examining his hair which he wore shoulder length.
His favorite story, though, was the little kid, about 4 or 5, who was walking down the street a few feet ahead of his mother and, when Fred walked around the corner, took one look at the 6 foot tall, skinny man with White blonde hair and went running back to his mother screaming: “ONI, ONI, ONI …”
