This is a perverted kind of straw man. In the meantime, any suggestions about how to prevent what real Republicans are doing to our government, judicial system, economy and environment?

I think he’s nailed it. See today’s WaPo on Keystone Pipeline’s Federal Court if Appeals decision. Turns out, again, that bold decisions made on a macho whim need to rely on well-researched positions. You can’t rely on ceremonially signing with your Serious Important Man Face on to, as Cleopatra signed off, “Make it so”.

A tangled mess of a cartoon implicating the BAD ORANGE MAN in whatever. I suppose Obama’s numerous executive orders were celebrated, though issued with the same legitimacy. The agencies of government — Vets, Education, IRS, DOJ, etc. — were all managed for political ends under Obama – and mismanaged at that. A change of power has led to, yes, a change of agenda. ACLU? You mean that bunch that used to believe in free speech? Bah!

That’s not entirely true; in certain cases you can get a temporary injunction while the case is being decided, (as was the case with the travel ban) potentially saving thousands of people from a harmful EO, at least in the interim.

And then the Supreme Court overturns the lower courts because the President’s actions were indeed lawful. This scenario needs the Sunday panels as well as an understanding of how the law really works.

We need a bevy of governors who take the path of the John Royce character (Designated Survivor), but defending the Constitution.

    BTW, I don’t think I’ve seen “billsh*t” before. It’s perfect.

Too bad you couldn’t bring yourself to vote for the qualified old lady.

This was the way it worked with the Supreme Court. Eventually, they ruled against him. Now, however, we have the supReme couRt. Since the addition of a person who used his job interview to literally foam at the mouth against the Democrats created this court, do you still think we can trust them?

Too bad you are using the modus operendi of the previous White House resident toward the present one.

Conveniently forgetting how often injunctions are put in place almost immediately…

Let’s talk about ‘original’ intent here. The intent of the author(s) of the 14th Amendment was to ensure people of color could vote. Modern RWNJs and Trump’s intent is to ensure as many people of color as possible do not vote. That’s obvious from the current grossly exaggerated hoo-ha about voter fraud and the many laws being passed by Republican controlled state legislatures that are supposedly intended to combat that (non-existent) problem. Why do conservatives hate America? Liberty and justice for all affluent whites seems to be their overall intent.
