America is no longer a country with 2 parties, but 2 parties (each, in fact, a minority) trying to assert their ideology exclusively over the entire country. Without unity, it’s a very scary place … especially when so many angry people have weapons.
The equating of ‘mental illness’ with ‘hate’ and ‘anti Semitism’ is wrong on so many levels. Hatred is a learned disorder while mental illness is the result of a birth defect or trauma. To put it in simple terms – All haters and anti Semites are mentally ill, but not all those with mental illness are haters.
Roof killed 9, not Semites. The children ultra-right said were ’’’’actors", weren’t Semites. The 58 killed and 500 wounded in Las Vegas, apparently represented a cross section of Americans. 9/11 killed Christians, Jews, Muslims and others. Until we stop falling back on “classifying” victims, we gain nothing. Don’t like Netanyahu, MBS, Trump, or other violent leaders who put themselves above the lives of their people. They aren’t “leaders”. They are creepy dudes believing in “nationalism” above humanity.
We are not removed from the hate of the South in the 60’s. That hate did not disappear the day after schools were desegregated, and that hate is not restricted to the South………..and the POtuS is shamelessly and willfully fomenting that hate………………and his more benign supporters get the hate tattoo with the Trump package, whether or not they deny it.
