Those old, tired, backward empty declarations against Democrats still don’t replace the moral and political vacuum of the Republican Party. Conservatives also want healthcare. Your leaders in congress gave away your money to their friends. Conservatives also want the medicare and social security they have been paying into all their working lives. Your Republican leaders want to steal that, too. Supporting that kind of Trumpian evil over Americans must weigh heavy on you, Ramirez.

Can’t do it; the Republicans have already given it away to the rich people and doubled the deficit.

The uneducated, over fifty, Republicans might believe this but the young people who will be paying off the deficit created by the tax cuts are not convinced that the GOP is fiscally conservative any longer.

Looks to me like Pelosi got the wrong house. The mansion is in the opposite end of town where the 1 percenters live. That’s where the democratic taxes will be placed.

“Jlocke” does it again. The rich are rich because we have a society that let’s them get rich with courts, roads, education, and an entire social structure they (including me) have been able to use to create wealth. Sometimes that wealth is inherited, of course, which distorts your claim, invalidating much of it.

Yes. I will pay more taxes, for education, basic scientific research, food programs, healthcare for all, and the many blessings of modern American life. But I’m a patriot, not an impractical, selfish libertarian swimming in my little pond oblivious to the broader society. Ayn Rand depended on the federal government for her Social Security. Paul Ryan lived in publicly supported housing as a youngster.

The recent tax cuts are, of course, a right wing sham, a shell game. Sure, stock buybacks soared, but it was fiscally irresponsible. The regressives are not only ignorant liars, they also are ransacking the Treasury and running up the national debt for no discernible reason. This is simply part of the morally and intellectually bankrupt regressive philosophy. It’s like denying votes to minorities, jailing toddlers and supporting tiki torch carrying domestic Nazis.

Well, that and sending pipe bombs through the mail and shooting up synagogues.

Oh look it’s the old cliché where the tax and spend Dems take your paycheck and give it to lazy people. Sorry Mr. Ramirez but that’s just lazy.

Excuse me, but the current Republican Congress has beaten Ms. Pelosi to that punch. But it’s okay; gutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid will solve that problem.

Ramirez loves the Tax Cut by #45, Ryan & McConnell for Adelson, Ross, the Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, etc! Afterall, it helps pay the $1.5 billion interest payment owed daily on the U.S. government’s debt!

RWNJs also love to spend “Government” money without paying for it!

I have to say, the demonization of Nancy Pelosi is one of the great mysteries of current politics. Her sin seems to be awesome competence— stumblebum congressional Publicans just can’t get over the fact that as Speaker she never lost a vote. And I suppose that being absolutely scandal-free sticks in their craws, too.

Pelosi and the Dems want to increase taxes on the wealthy since they are the ones that benefit the most from infrastructure, the Navy protecting international shipments and educating the populace. They want to cut taxes for the middle class by removing the cap on property taxes and business deductions (e.g. sales people’s mileage).

The Republicans openly stated that they passed the tax cuts for their DONORS, so they admitted they don’t vote on behalf of their constituents. McConnell has openly admitted that the deficit the Repubs created with their stupid tax cut and military increases will be addressed by cutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Mr Ramirez apparently isn’t scared even though Mitch McConnell has announced he’s coming for Social Security checks and Medicare benefits — not to mention the huge tax increases for working Americans when he repeals Obamacare tax credits. I guess Sheldon Adelson pays well when you sell him your soul.

We, taxpayers, get some of the benefits of government research, but the venture capitalists do much better …

    “ …

“In the case of venture capitalists,” Mazzucato writes, “their real genius appears to lie in their timing: their ability to enter a sector late, after the highest development risks had already been taken, but at an optimum moment to make a killing.”Much of the hard work of innovation, she argues, has been funded by the government, which sees little direct return. Contrary to tech industry sneering, public funds are responsible for a lot of the technology we attribute to Silicon Valley. Mazzucato points out that GPS was funded by the US Navy, touchscreen display was backed by the CIA, both the internet and SIRI were funded by the Pentagon’s DARPA, and Google’s search algorithm was funded by a National Science Foundation grant.

    …”
