Very touching. Many are quick to dismiss cats, to claim they do not love their humans and that they are cruel and aloof. My late adopted kitty was very frightened, she came from an abusive home. At 5 years old it was obvious she had never even learned to play with toys. Then one night I felt her climb onto my stomach. She curled up and fell asleep. She did that almost every night until she died 3 years later.I know she loved me as much as I loved her
Awww Peekaboo, you so remind me of my darling Macushla who passed away a year ago September. She was the most loving kitty ever. Nothing sweeter than taking a nap with a lovely kitty and hearing her purrrrrrr.
I had a little black cat named Kellie. I would set my alarm to about 5 minutes before I actually had to get out of bed. As soon as the alarm went off Kellie would run in & burrow under the covers into my arms. We would snuggle like that for the allotted 5 minutes, then she would gently nip my finger to let me know that “time’s up”. It was a lovely 5 minutes every morning, and a nice way to wake up.
Our beautiful delicate calico spent every night sleeping on my wife’s head, the only part that showed. Looked like a spotted head warmer. She has not slept as well since KittyPat passed. And frankly neither have I, because she spent her evenings on the sofa next to me. RIP, KittyPat
My two are always trying to get or give love. Meowgana will go nuts if the hubby is having a spell, meowing, pawing at him etc. Purrlin is my bellower, if he wants love and attention you hear him. If I’m down in the dumps will cuddle me or let me hug him like a toy bear and he just PURRS.
My Corgi is terrified of thunder. At the first crash my Siamese will go find him and meow until Frankie gets on the couch. Alice then climbs on him and licks him until he calms down. She will not leave him until after the storm. Then she has nothign to do with him. Hillarious.
Rescues definitely understand what you’ve done for them and love you for it. But even a cat that has never fended for itself will return honest love that asks nothing. My Mungogerri was born in my lap. (Admittedly, she was a first time mother’s second kitten and was ignored due to fascination for the first born. I thus had to clean her and make sure she was breathing. She always treated me as her mother – and devout slave – and her mother as her wet nurse.) She gave me constant love throughout her life.
I guess she qualified as a rescue at that, she was just rescued in utero.

Sorry Jimbo, once a comfortable spot to rest has been found, it’s hard (if not impossible) to move from that spot!

More than once when I have found it hard to relax, slow down the brain, have I been lulled to sleep by a cat purring in my ear.

Cats make you relax and most of the dozens we have had living with us over the years especially were attentive when one of us were ill.

You think Peekaboo is a world-class cuddler, you should get yourself a python. (Being cold-blooded, they want your body heat.)
