Must be a new receptionist. She has never seen a talking dog before.

My brother had a St Bernard. After one particular visit, he was told not to come back.

A walking, talking Farley? If this strip ever became an animated cartoon, Lynn Johnston (Queen of Originality) could make it something like this:

Elly: “It seems today, that all you see, is filth in comics and bratty kids.”

John: “But where are those good old fashioned values, on which we used to depend?”

Elly, Elizabeth and April and suddenly in leotards and John, Michael and Farley are now wearing top hats and tuxedos, flanked by similarly dressed men and women

John, Elly, Michael, Elizabeth, April, Farley{in unison}: “Lucky there’s for better or for worse! All the things that make us…”

    April: “…laugh till we burst!”

People{singing}: “It’s for better or for worse!”

    Lynn’s Notes:

Farley was so much fun to draw. I must have said this before…and here I am saying it again. If I had a favourite cartoon character, Farley was it.

Used to have two OES, the groomer was a friend of my wife’s. She would only do them after hours because it took hours to wash, dry, comb, and groom. Of course since it was after hours, we brought a bottle of Chardonnay along with the dogs.

Lynn’s Notes This really happened! The women in reception really thought Farley could talk and passed out, hitting the floor and a counter on the way down. The massive bleeding and concussion really slowed the check-in.

Oh come on! Nobody believes a dog can really talk and would faint like that. I don’t care what Lynne told us.

Poor fluff-baby! I know how this goes: my mini shar pei tried to chomp my dad as he brought her in and he’s like, “YOU DON’ CHOMP YOUR PAPA.” and she let him take her in, albeit begrudgingly. (We never raise our voices with them, but she is dangerous.)

Thank God we have the original strips available on this site. There are real hateful people on this commenting section. They hate to see what is essentially a normal family, very well and humourously represented. We also see some who seem to hate the cartoonist personally! Most of these people must have very unhappy lives.
