I was trying to figure out which Studebaker they were driving, but it seems the rest of the commenters know – I wasn’t a big Stude fan, but I can appreciate a classic! ;-)

My first car was a 1950 Studebaker Champion two-door with the wrap around rear windows. I got it in 1960 when I was 15.

oops I meant a 1950…as a kid I imagined aiming with the hood ornament and pressing the cigarette lighter to launch the torpedo out of the nose of the hood. It seemed every male relative in the family used their WW2 discharge money to by a 1950 Studebaker…family was loyal to the brand until we could no longer get parts for the last Avanti.

Their car is an early-1950s Studebaker Commander (that front end is distinctive). Where is Earl getting the parts to keep it running? Studebaker went out of business over fifty years ago.

I love the ‘50 Studebaker; it’s right up there with Broomhilda’s ’56 Plymouth Fury.

Great car. Enjoyed seeing it. Keep showing it occasionally. It was rare even then. Ahead of its time. Along with Hudson’s, Kaiser’s and Henry J’s, Nash’s and Packards.

my Great Aunt & Uncle had a baby blue Studebaker, loved going for rides in it with them, such a simpler, easy going childhood we had in the 50s, 60’s compared to kids now – sad what they miss out on
