Is it culturally insensitive to wonder if the piñata tradition teaches children it’s OK to beat horses? Couldn’t they use a paper mache bunny rabbit, or a kitten or fawn or something? It would be so much more visceral…
Children can be cruel, violent, destructive. How else could they grow up to be us?
