Buffy, cannibal hunter. Not to make light of Denise’s situation, but she really should be burning her bridges behind her. I can understand Walt’s animosity, though. The two of them really are poles apart.

Once again, Mr. Neathery’s artistic brilliance has Walt’s facial expressions in the dark, even when he is about to show Denise the light.

Hope the mayor will swoop down with the rats and grab her so they can do the brain drain and get all the pig eaters.

So, the lights aren’t running on the electrical grid of Endtown? The light should have turned off if the pole was snapped in half otherwise. I’m going to blame Zero Science.

Oh! Maybe Walt’s going to fold her up into a little boat and send her floating away…

It’s kinda spooky how this bookends the beginning of the arc. A predator chasing a pig down by the docks. But this time it’s no game.

Denise…enjoy the terror you’re feeling right now? It appears you’ve forgotten the terror of the war, the horror of Pep Stadium, of monsters roaming the streets. You’ve forgotten the atrocities that sent you and all the others to Endtown. You-and your group-have murdered how many pigs; caused the deaths of how many others? How much fear have you started? Whatever happens to you now will be far too brief, and will never balance the damage you’ve caused. You…filthy…PIG!

Walt sees red and she sees death ripping out her hair.

I think I may have to stop reading the comments for awhile. Very dark, Mr. Neathery. Horrifying to watch the loss of humanity on both sides. The destruction of the war continues.

Interesting technique by Aaron. Despite the proximity of the light, we do not see his face. (I know because I copied the toon into Preview and maxed the exposure. Except for the forearm and hand, he’s pure black, which should not be the case.

Run, Denise! Walt, black as death, is coming for you.

And that also reveals no wires in the lamp, so it is indeed not running on a normal grid. So Walt does have a nice torch. With a wooden handle, based on the way it splinters.

Isn’t that nice, Denise? Walt carrying a torch for you. He’ll see how you really feel about him. Run Denise!

I do love the absolute terror on her face. As others have said, she’s earned it. But, I too want the Mayor to shred her mind, rather than for Walt to pulverize her. After a long chase, of course…

Run, run, run, Denise!

This is a sanctioned execution, apparently for the restoration of peace and safety in the community. Jacob Jackrabbit may or may not get permission from Rat Security to do whatever he wants, but by getting Velda to hold back the police, he’ll end up getting what he wants anyway. And Jacob has more of a sense of right and wrong than the rats, so I’m on his side. So, Mister Neathery has done yet another remarkable thing in his storytelling – he’s turned a despicable, violent deed into something I want to happen. Not because Denise ‘deserves’ to be punished, but because I want the serial murders to stop.

I’m guessing maybe the lamp is some sort of bio-luminescent globe that charges through the day hours and lights up when the night time finally falls yeah? Seems a plausible idea considering living in a underground area. Certain plant’s and fish have adapted for bio-lum.

Wake up Denise, Wake up!! This is just a bad dream , from a bowl of fermented beans perhaps. Remember, your a vegetarian and this is all a really…really bad dream.

So much for connective, electrical wiring.

Would the teeth of a pig be considered “canine” in type?

I was hoping Foxworthy would live, and was disappointed. I’m hoping that Denise’s demise is somehow worth something, if just having her brain indexed, but I bet I’ll be disappointed about that, too.

Run Denise, run!

I really, really, really DON’T want Walt to kill Denise. Not because I think she doesn’t deserve it, but because it will turn one of the nicest people in Endtown into something he won’t want to live with.

So … is that a metal or wooden pole? Can´t imagine them having had much access to wood.

… I am not saying that justice is about to be done,even though (supposedly) butchering your fellow humans for pleasure fodder does mean it is hard to feel sorry for her…

…That being said, it looks like the eye for an eye justice is being served is a ice cold dish…

I think it’s lights out for everyone. It was a riveting arc though.
