We need a viable Democratic Party in this country! We also need a viable third and fourth party, too.

I’m not too happy about having more parties around. It would mean that a few people would tell the rest of us what to do. If you really want to make real change take a page out of the conservative playbook and take over one of the parties.

Need proof? Just watch any Republican on t.v. call themselves conservatives instead of Republicans.

the problem with a three-party system is that the two more similar parties tend to divide the majority vote so that the least popular party is the one that wins. it would be nice to have more viable options, but I’m not sure how to fix the aforementioned…

In my more Molly Ivins moods, I’d like to see first of all, the elimination of the electoral college, so that every vote counted, but then to have a minimum of four candidates for president. The one with the most votes becomes president, the second-most one becomes vice president. You know, like it was originally.

The Ellyfunt has the weight advantage here. Need some good footwork out of the Dunkey.

Annamargaret1866,,, I’ll go along with that. It would look better to the rest of the world too.
