Is this cartoon saying that her memory has been preserved? Wouldn’t you have whipped cream with strawberry shortcake? So many questions.

Reminds me of the old joke. When the Lone Ranger’s and Tonto’s devoted guide Shortcake dies, the masked man and Tonto pay a call on the widow. The Lone Ranger offers her money, food, and blankets, but she rejects them all, saying she is in need of nothing. “Well,” says Tonto, “can’t we at least dig the grave and bury Shortcake?” “No,” the widow replies, “squaw bury Shortcake.”

I thought she was getting a bit seedy. That’s hard to digest.
