The sport you call “football.” Egg-shaped “ball” usually carried by hand.

The sport you call “soccer.” Actual ball-shaped ball, usually kicked by the foot.

So use the word “football” for the latter, and call the first one “handegg.”

OK, I promise I’ll shut up about this now. :-)
