If math was taught like pseudoscientific “theories” making their way into school curricula purely for political or religious purposes.

Yep, Bennett’s got it wrong. The caption should read: If math was taught - kowtowing to political correctness and/or cultural relativism.

if english were taught in the public schools, the caption would correctly read ‘if math were taught like science’

@sherbert The people complaining about political correctness are just pissed they can’t yell “nigger” at all the black students and knock over the “retards” in wheelchairs.

I never understood why someone would use racial slurs. What do they get from that? someone has dark skin or is in a wheelchair, so what?

Now if we just agreed that a “day” could just be biblical shorthand for a billion or so years, instead of “literally” taken from a much translated text, we might have fewer arguments, and frauds from the “religious right”.

Sooky Rottweiler says; The creationnists would still be saying God made Man to His image, yet humans have the least amazing bodies of Moon Wolf’s creation; they need clothes to keep their heat, they get colds and viruses, they can’t see in the dark, their sense of smell is a joke (I mean, you need us canines to sniff your luggage at the airport!) and so is their sense of hearing! Whatever happened to their tails? They can’t fly, can’t run very fast or very far. They can’t catch even their food (living prey, of course!) with their bare hands!

In my humble canine opinion, a being made to the image of a God would kick much more tail; could levitate, fly, become invisible, change shape and handle the occasional lightning bolt at the very least!

trout, there are creationists who believe that. In fact, most variants of creationism accept scientific estimates of the age of the Earth, even if altered by, say, the Flood; the exception is “Young Earth” creationists, who generally accept the 6,000 year estimate, give or take a few. The debate among creationists is “how long” and whether any form of evolution occurs, e.g., what they call “microevolution.” (That is, incremental rather than species-change.)
