People look at me and ask if I am alright, if I need to sit down, if I need a wheelchair. Sitting on a jury, the gentleman we found guilty was constantly looking worried for me. It was touching, but he was clearly guilty. I hope they were nice to him.

While I have to go to a clinic and still wear this special shoe sometimes someone will ask but very rarely.

I think with most people it’s just a formality rather than genuine concern

Didn’t Walmart get rid of their greeters because people complained?

I wanna see someone like Sgt. Maj. Basil Plumley (“We Were Soldiers Once” – the book is better than the movie) as a Walmart greeter.

For quite a while the greeters at my local Walmart (or hardly anyone else in that store) barely acknowledged you. However, it’s gotten better recently.

The main reason Walmart does it anyway, is that it discourages shoplifters. People aiming to steal want to be invisible, and being spoken to by a store employee lessens their confidence.

Whenever he’s asked how he is by a clerk, my husband always answers ‘terrible’. Only rarely does anyone pick up on it.

Yeah, when one of those people asks “How are you doing?”, just go ahead and start telling them….and watch their eyes glaze over !

The biggest problem is those that seem to know how you should live your life better than you do.
