I’ll have a legendary ham sandwich with my fries. Oh, and add a slice of cheese.

The map’s legendary legend became a legend when it let the legion of loitering legumes to languish in the lagoon.

As the temporarily deceased Sir Terry Pratchett notes in one of his books, legend comes from the Latin “legenda” (same root as “legible”) and just meant “something to be read”.

People need to learn a little etymology. A “legendary” double cheeseburger is one that has been described, talked about, etc, but is not actually known to exist.

Similarly, something described as “fantastic” is the product of fantasy. And something “fabulous” is “belonging in a fable”.

If you can’t take the heat, then just take the hate. The burgermeister’s waist is not worth the weight. The legend’s arrival just might be too late; forthcoming this burger is not worth the wait.
