In the 60’s, 1% of the Harley’s were sold to Hell’s Angels. Today, the 1%er’s are the new Hell’s Angels.

A lot of losers at that table: Obama for folding on his principles too soon. The Republicans even more so for once again revealing their extreme hypocrisy. And the American people who had a huge hole blown in the national debt.

Oh, and there’s a couple of wars going on - cost of $2-$3 billion PER WEEK.

These cartoonists need to come to the same realization that Obama did - - liberals lost the election for a good reason, and if anything is going to get done, the two parties must both learn to compromise. He did not fold, he matched the bid. Trouble is, neither side is yet ready to learn how to manage finances like we all have to at home.

    @Machado:

Yes, Liberal cartoonists are disappointed with Obama because he caved in to immoral republicans. You remember the republicans, don’t you? They are the ones who got us into this mess–two wars and a financial meltdown–and are obstructing Obama’s attempts to get us out. When elected officials publicly state that their primary goal is to make the President fail and not to help govern the country it’s called treason.

Progressives are very disappointed with and angry at Obama, but we still remember who caused this mess by shilling for the rich and trying to divide the rest of us.

Go ahead, “conservatives”, hold your head up high and be proud that you may have won this battle, but do not stop to think about what you have done, because you won’t be able to live with yourselves. I hope all your grandchildren are born with webbed feet.

Being disappointed in Obama’s caving to the GOP doesn’t mean we like the GOP any more.

Remember how disappointed we all were with Neville Chamberlin for caving….

“he didn’t fold he’s finally learning the art of compromise”

Right, I’m sorry - extending the cuts for everyone not making over 200k per year is NOT a compromise when total expiration is an option?

If anyone’s learning, it’s the GOP. They got what they wanted, they DIDN’T get to be the party that blocked unemployment benefits (yeah, that would sell well with a lot of voters), what more could they want? If anything goes bad, they’ll just say they were in the minority and big bad Obama is to blame.

    beenthere41 is right 4uk4ata.

What you offered is zero compromise, taking everything you want and not giving anything to the other side for a modicum of support. Obama’s whole platform was bi-partisanship. Now, he finally had a chance to do it and you libs malign him for taking the winning hand on a small compromise. You all are clueless.

What’s not mentioned is that if every Dem went along with the same idea no Reps were needed. So why did Obama have to compromise at all? Either some Dems actually have brains and principles (or they are afraid of not getting re-elected in 2 yrs) or Obama truly wanted to reach across the table for once. Either way, criticizing Obama on this one is foolishness (at least from a liberal perspective).

I hope that the libs and conservatives in Congress will reject the compromise!

Then, the new Congress will permanently extend the current tax rates - for ALL, and will reduce the insane 13-month unemployment ‘benefit’ to maybe 6-months, if any.

They just need another few months to get rolling. It’s a slow start-up from 10 years ago till the tax cuts actually kick in and create jobs. Keep the faith, guys~ *

Well we have to extend the tax-cut for the wealthy, because the wealthy will always do the right thing with their money. ( Bernie Madoff ) The wealthy have only Ameica’s best interests at heart, and if we give them more money, we can count on them to use it for the benefit of America ( Ken Lay ) There is no doubt that the wealthy will use their tax cut money to promote job growth ( the Walton Family )

The second, perhaps - and the party that votes for that might have some issues on the next election. The first… when someone proves how 10 years of tax cut would be deficit-neutral. You know, the reason why they weren’t made permanent to begin with.

Peter, your guys got a Christmas present come early with the current compromise. They get practically everything they want, and the Dems get saddled with anything that goes wrong. Oh, and Obama disappoints the base.

Poll out this AM. By 66%, the public supports the extension of the Bush tax cuts for all.

^ the way to cut the deficit is to decrease spending. With either party, increased taxes translates into increased spending. DC spends $1.37 for every dollar collected in taxes.

Using simple math skills means if you cut one dollar in taxes you actually save 37 cents. 37 cents less deficit.

Now if you were to say we will cut spending and take every dollar in taxes to actually decrease the debt we might have a discussion.
